Just a thought but I had a similar problem to this and it turned out to be the TV....can you try a different TV?
In addition, Android also requires the TV to be on when you start.

Interesting thought - the TV I use is 720p and not 1080p. I will try a different one.

I did notice LED activity on the XIOS .. with the newest firmware, the blue light would come on solid about 20 seconds or so into boot up then nothing else would happen. With older firmwares including 121512, I saw no LED activity at all, not even the blue one.

Its not that hard to get it going, read here: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=1971
Once connected you should be able to read what the box spits out during boot and see where (or why) its stuck.
