Answered: HDMI to DVI fails to provide desktop

Postby csobchuk » March 3rd, 2017, 1:19 pm

Hi, I have a Pivos XS with the latest firmware TOFU OS 2015 release. I can connect it directly to an HDMI input and it works fine. However, when I try to connect it to the TV I need it on which only has a DVI input via an HDMI to DVI adapter, it shows the Pivos boot screen, but then goes black. I can't perform any changes to the configuration - which are all set to auto as verified when I connect it to the HDMI screen.

Any ideas on how to overcome this issue? Would moving from TOFU OS to TOFULinux be advised?
Thanks, Cliff.

Have you verified the adapter is working with other HDMI devices for 720p/1080p ?
Try taking the XS back to an HDMI display, set output resolution to 480p, then back to your adapter and see if you get a desktop.
If all fails nothing to lose switching to TOFULinux and give it a go.
