Connecting Kodi iOS remote app

I've setup TOFULinux on my Xios DS M3 and connected the Kodi remote app and it seems to work fine, but I get a warning when I connect that says "It seems that the TCP connection with Kodi cannot be established. This will prevent the app from listening to Kodi...." As far as I understand, the app expects to be able to connect over port 9090 for TCP? What must I do to open that port?

You can set a custom port but IIRC the default one is 8080 and configurable from the system settings.
That said box itself can't close/open ports, that would be your router blocking specific ports for specific hosts, though this shouldn't be an issue for access over local network.

Yeah, that's kind of what I thought, I assumed the router shouldn't be blocking anything over the internal network, so wondered if there was some kind of firewall on the device. Nobody else has reported this happening?

Not as far as I can recall. Have you tried the web interface ? is it working ?

I haven't. Honestly, it's not a big deal other than I hate it when something appears to have something wrong with it. The remote app is actually working, the message just seems to indicate that something could potentially not work right. I figured I'd check here if it was an easy fix, but I'm not gonna lose sleep over it.
