There was nothing more to be done, problem with YT is after the latest google API change the length of the translated links for the youtube video increased past the capabilities of the AIOS own API.

Meh, youtube is overrated anyway. I bought this as an upgrade for my iPod and don't use it for much else. With a 2TB HD installed, it's great to have a lossless library of music at your fingertips. I've ripped a lot of vinyl LPs to flac, 96/24 and the aios handles them effortlessly. Thanks again for all your efforts into the aios, aasoror and everyone else that helped. 8-)

aasoror,
First, thank you for all of your work you've done regarding the AIOS platform. It's been a while (year or so) since I've been online looking for anything having to do with my AIOS boxes. I ran across your name/posts in several places and thought I'd seek your advice.

All my AIOS boxes are running the last official firmware I downloaded from the Pivos site (3.4.3.0 from June 8,2012). The only thing I use my AIOSs for is streaming video and music off my Synology NAS (no HDDs in any of them). Honestly, that has worked pretty well over the years and I'm a fan of what this box can play. My family uses it quite a bit of time.

Anyway, there were two reasons/questions I was hoping to learn:
1. Is there an improved file manager interface? My son commented that the one we've been using for years looked kind of old. Plus, we have a lot of files to look through in our library and just wondered if there was an improved UI in one of the later unofficial firmware releases. In particular, the ability to page through hundreds and hundreds of artists in the music folder can be challenging with the current firmware
2. Audio Playlist Support - Years ago (with this version of firmware), I opened a ticket with Pivos Group regarding a bug with playlists. If I recall, when accessing a playlist from a DNLA source, the AIOS wouldn't play the songs in the order they appeared in the playlist itself. It played them alphabetically or by artist or something weird. I was told at the time it wasn't going to be fixed. So, I was curious to know if perhaps that may have been addressed in some firmware update since then.

Bottom line: What firmware would you you suggest I be using (even if you're not sure it will help with the above)?

Thank you!

Give the latest semiofficial firmware a try.
File browser remains the same as official 3.0.1.7 (beside the skinning), but, for local music there is two additional jukeboxes to use, give them a try and see if its not as limited as the stock music browser.
For DLNA playback, you might want to explorer making use of the DMR functionality of the AIOS, so you can push music to it from DLNA server (your NAS) using a DMC (controller), if you have an Android device to mediate between the two something like Bubble UPnP

Good evening everyone,
I took a picture of my current firmware (see at the end).

To update to: 01/23/2014: R23.1 (requires R23)

Does this line applicable to my case ?
http://YOUR.AIOS.IP.ADDRESS/cgi-bin/cus ... local/etc/

Or do I have to start with lower numbers (R20-R21-R22).

Also, since I currently don't have direct-internet to this box, is there a way I can download R23 Off-line to USB, then bring the USB home and install offline from the USB (using the off-on-while-holding-front-button process).

Thank you.

Internet connectivity is required for R23.1 patch, but the patch deals with YT fix, so if your box doesn't access the internet then R23.1 is not needed.

R23 is enough, and you don't need internet activity for that, just follow the panic recovery process as outlined in the first post with the R23 image.

Best of luck,
